The Network Series #2: Don "Superheroes encourage thinking of what could be possible"

Here is a snapshot of the full quote:

Superheroes encourage thinking of "the greater good," pushing the boundaries of what is "known and accepted" vs what could be possible if we all worked together toward a common goal. A lot of that comes from suspension of disbelief, which is tragically uncommon in considering new ideas in our current society.

This gem came from a conversation sparked by me bouncing ideas for my next startup off of Don. Don was giving really good feedback, but I felt he was missing the mark... I was really experiencing the true struggle of trying to get someone on the same page. After some frustration and apologizing, I re-framed the conversation. Instead of trying to explain the concept, model, structure I backed up and started explaining the motivations and inspirations behind the idea. Which in this case was how super heroes like Batman, Green Arrow, and the Flash have a personal science team that makes really cool super tech for them.

Anyway, I seek Don's consult often because he is one of those individuals who has a technical mind that doesn't hinder his ability to think in the greater context of abstract things. That quality is something I greatly appreciate, since I tend to think in more of the abstract greater context and have a difficult time grounding myself back into reality. Also, I don't have a technical background...

Which brings us to this post and why the Network Series is important and value add. The posts are meant to capture the present day concept of what a Network is in hopes to provide examples of how you can grow and interact with your own and realize the impact they'll have in your life. Technology of today allows the Modern Business Mind to be in contact and stay connected like never before. For example, whenever I need to bounce an idea off my network I can text, call, Snapchat, comment on their instagram, interact on twitter, dump questions into a groupchat etc. If you wanted to, you could consider those you follow and look up to as a part of your network - what are you learning from their posts, livestreams, and tweets?

I'd be honored to be considered a part of your network and I hope I continue to provide some value and impact. Feel free to comment, critique, or share

Sincerely,
MBMJeremy
